Music

A long time ago, I used to write music. Well, I tried at least. Turns out I wasn’t that great at it, but I decided to put up some music I’ve composed here. Most of these songs are from late 90′s early 2000′s using basic keyboard and recorded live; no second takes! Feel free to write if you like something. I may be inspired to compose again someday.

Fairly Newer Songs

mp3 Vienna Pomp
Posted: 1/20/2011
Length: 2:15 Minutes / 3.1MB

This sample was recently created using Mixcraft 5. It’s all written by hand, no keyboard (unfortunately) and thus is a bit rough and short. I wanted to try and duplicate a full orchestra via computer and it turned out semi-acceptable. lol.

Old Songs

Most of these songs have been composed on my computer using my Yamaha PSR-510 keyboard MIDI into a Sound Blaster Audigy card which uses SoundFont technology.

mp3 Green Earth

Posted: 10/20/2003
Length: 1:42 Seconds / 3.1MB

It’s been a while since I’ve put anything here online. I’ve been mostly learning the guitar as of late, and haven’t really put any time into the midi stuff. Well I’ve had some time and decided to create a song that had a soundtrack score quality that would be good for an aerial shot of rolling green hills. Threw this little clip together. Strings, Piano, Oboe, and yes, me on a guitar. lol.

mp3 All I Had To Give

Posted: 06/13/2002
Length: 2:28 Seconds / 3.9MB

This is just another instrumental song with no drums. It could use some. Overdriven guitar with strings and finger bass. Good melody I think. hehehe.

mp3 Don’t Play This Song

Posted: 06/1/2002
Length: 1:44 Seconds / 2.39MB

This is just crappy little song I threw together one evening. It really is raw and needs work but I just had some bass licks in my head I needed to get out and of course, I made a song to get them out. :)

mp3 Suddenly Soon

Posted: 01/22/2002
Length: 47 Seconds / 1.1MB

I had to get this guitar toon on tape so I wouldn’t forget it. I then was like, hey lets put a beat and strings with it. Thus this little snippet. I might do a full length song one day. lol. :)

mp3 Persuasion

Posted: 01/22/2002
Length: 3:21 Minutes / 4.7MB

This is a piano solo. Basically because I couldn’t think of any other instruments to add to it. It’ll stand by itself fine though. :)

mp3 Spanish Trance

Posted: 01/22/2002
Length: 1:52 Minutes / 2.57MB

A simple little ethnic tune. I wanted to get that flamingo dancing, castanet clapping, el guitar struming salsa. Well, at least I tried. lol.

mp3 Ambience

Posted: 01/11/2002
Length: 2:22 Minutes / 3.27MB

My first use of sound effects throughout the song. A small brook during a stormy afternoon. Ambient sounds, with a haunting tune.
Enjoy!

mp3 Glenn Crossing

Posted: 01/9/2002
Length: 2:51 Minutes / 3.93MB

Symphonic march. Picture rolling green hills. I had this tune in my head and finally got it out! Strings with horns. Woot!

mp3 Parting Ways

Posted: 01/6/2002
Length: 1:40 Minutes / 2.29MB

Piano melody with Cello and flute. Just something I came up with one evening.

mp3 Fallen Soldier

Posted: 11/26/2001
Length: 3:10 Minutes / 4.37MB

Symphonic melody that flows to a climatic ending for the fallen soldier. Use of Soundfonts again.

mp3 The Attack

Posted: 10/1/2001
Length: 4:44 Minutes / 6.8MB

Ethnic Symphonic melody. This song is the first of three songs that I have thought of for Sept 11th. I tried to add some sound effects to add to the music helping the listener with the points where I see the events taking place during the song. Hope they don’t offend you.

mp3 God’s Grace

Posted: 10/1/2001
Length: 6:16 Minutes / 8.9MB

My longest song yet. A whole 6 minutes! Symphonic melody. I wrote this piece on September 11 for obvious reasons. This song is actually one of two songs that I have in my head. The first is the attack. This is the second, God’s Grace. Hope you like. It’s a big download.

mp3 Red Violin Soundtrack

Posted: 8/21/2001
Length: 3:30 Minutes / 5.1 MB

I did this one after seeing the movie. Wanted to make a fuller soundtrack for it.
This was a little adagio string track I made using soundfonts again. A full string orchestra is the result. Damn ain’t computers somthi’n.

mp3 Northern Winds

Posted: 8/21/2001
Length: 1:45 Minutes / 2.42 MB

Moody little song. Piano, strings, etc. Everyone seems to like this song the best. :)

mp3 Rainy Day Soundtrack

Posted: 7/21/2001
Length: 2:20 Minutes / 3.2 MB

I’ve recently started using MIDI with SoundFonts. This is a recording of a session I did to see how certian sounds (i.e. strings) sounded. Not too bad.

Even Older Songs

mp3 Moving Stars

Posted: 8/1/2001
Length: 1:56 Minutes / 2.67 MB

Funky little beat breakin down. Strings Pad, with piano in the back.

mp3 The Sun Rises

Posted: 8/1/2001
Length: 1:56 Minutes / 2.67 MB

Slow chamber music I wrote using MIDI/SoundFonts. Piano, Flute and Cello sound pretty realistic.

mp3 Winter Melody

Posted: 3/1/2001
Length: 3:30 Minutes / 3.2 MB

Probably the last song I’ll ever record from my clavionova piano. lol. Ever since discovering SoundFonts this keyboard just doesn’t sound realistic. Winter melody soundtrack. Strings with piano.

mp3 Adagio for Piano

Posted: 2/1/2001
Length: 3:13 Minutes / 4.43 MB

Slow adagio I wrote in my spare time. Piano duets with strings. Not perfect, but it will do.

Groovy little song. Driving through the city with a cool little beat.

mp3 Timed Exposure Remix
